Kawempe North Legislator Muhammad Ssegirinya’s mother has this morning returned to parliament again seeking justice for her son.
At about 9:00 AM Justine Nakajumba, emerged alone from King George IV Street sprinting in the direction of Parliament.
But Nakajumba was quickly intercepted by Police a few meters to the parliamentary building and briefly held at Development House before being allowed into parliament.
“The last time I came with a petition in vain. I want Mzee (President Yoweri Museveni) to help me and release my son Ssegirinya Muhammad. Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso, Mama Janet Museveni please release my son,” Nakajumba wailed.
Muhammad Ssegirinya (Kawempe North) and Allan Sewanyana (Makindye West) were arrested last year and detained at Kigo Prison over crimes related to rampant murders in Greater Masaka region.
Attempts by the “sickly” duo to apply for bail have been futile prompting recurrent walk outs by Opposition legislators.
Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga is expected to address the press following the conclusion of a two-week boycott to this end.
