Uganda State Minister for Finance in charge of Privatisation and Investment Hon Evelyn Anite on Thursday hosted Queen Torres Maria Leonora, Queen of Maharlika and Princess of Calabarzon from Philippines at the Ministry office.
Queen Torres was accompanied by Heal The Planet Global Organisation – HTP President Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, We Care for Humanity Uganda country Director Jorum Bukima and also Buruuri King HRH Isabaruuli Isaabarongo Mwatyansozi Mwogezi Butamanya with his Kingdom ministers.




Hon Anite was happy to know that Queen Torres has brought investors in Uganda so far in Education and Water Projects for Nakasongora Cattle Corridor and that she is willing to champion global engagement to be bringing more investors to Uganda for several sectors.
During the meeting, Queen Torres shared her agenda for Uganda Global Investment Summit in January 2024 which now Kivumbi wants to be organized by the East Africa regional bloc for Global Investment.
Speaking to HICGI News Agency, Kivumbi says the block has opportunity to trade with the world with it’s big population.
The current population of Eastern Africa is 475,858,096 as of Saturday, March 11, 2023, based on the latest United Nations estimates. Eastern Africa population is equivalent to 5.71% of the total world population. Eastern Africa ranks number 1 in Africa among subregions ranked by Population.
USA has 331.9 million (2021) and Russia has 143.4 million (2021)
Anite promised Uganda Government support in organizing this Investment Summit that will attract more than 2000 investors including Heads of State.
She also gave investment literature to Queen Torres to help in explaining to investors.
The meeting ended with a chain of prayer led by Bishop Buyondo Herbert who is also a Minister in charge of development projects for Buruuri Kingdom.
