Waeed Taheed, an Israeli businessman based in Uganda, suspected his wife, Monica Nabukenya, cheated on him His fears were confirmed when he took their six-month-old child for a DNA test, as he was not the father Taheed then took Nabukenya’s life before reporting her missing, but detectives unravelled the murder

Negative DNA results led to murder Waeed Taheed, an Israeli married to a Ugandan woman, reportedly dumped her body in a septic tank after committing the crime. Daily Monitor reports that Taheed, a resident of Kalagala Village in Mpigi District, first reported his wife, Monica Nabukenya, missing on Sunday, July 16.

The businessman is said to have suspected his 25-year-old wife of infidelity and took their six-month-old child for a DNA test. “It happened that the results turned negative,” a police statement read. The suspect then had an altercation with Nabukenya before killing her and dumping the body in a septic tank in their compound. While interrogating the suspect, detectives asked him to take them to his home. On arrival, they were hit by the stench of a decomposing body. They searched and found Nabukenya in a septic tank. After interrogation, Taheed admitted that he killed his wife because of the negative DNA results. Richard Ddumba, the chairperson of the town council, said the businessman and his wife had disagreements after he heard rumours that the baby belonged to another man. Taheed approached him four months ago, saying he would file for divorce. “He was pushing for a divorce in court, and I was shocked to receive news of the killing,” Ddumba said.
