Over the years, United States of America has issued travel advisory for her citizens travelling and living in foreign countries.
The level of advisory ranges from;
Level 1- Exercise normal precautions
level 2 – Exercise increased precautions
Level 3- Reconsider Travel
Level 4 – Do not Travel

All these precautions are aimed at safeguarding US citizens abroad and in case a citizen gets a problem or dies in country subjected to a travel warning, the level of compesation or blame is minimal.
On Monday, Uganda Government suprised America and other countries when it issued a Level 2 Travel Advisory for her citizens in US. ( Exercise increased precautions) following a failed assassination on presidential candidate and former US President Donald J Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
Trump’s shooter left one person dead and 2 others hospitalised.
Uganda Foreign Minister Okello Oryem addressing journalists on Monday said Ugandan citizens must avoid public places like malls, bars and large gatherings in US as more gun violence is claiming so many lives. “There have been shootings in schools and other places continue to be targets, our citizens therefore should exercise extreme precautions.” Said Oryem.

Meanwhile a presidential Resident District Commissioner during a radio show on Sunday said Uganda is closely following events happening in US Elections including violence. He cautioned US Government to exercise a free and fair election and do what it takes to stop the violence witnessed in the campaigns.
