
Hamas has announced the assassination of its leader, Ismail Haniyeh, during what they describe as a “treacherous Zionist raid” in Tehran early Wednesday morning. This development could significantly impact the dynamics of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
According to Khalil Al-Hayya, Hamas’s deputy chief in Gaza, who cited eyewitnesses, the missile that killed Haniyeh hit him “directly.” Israel has yet to claim responsibility for the attack.

According to Al-Hayya’s press conference in Tehran, the missile strike caused significant damage to Haniyeh’s room, destroying windows, doors, and walls.
Haniyeh and one of his guards were killed around 2:00 a.m. at his residence in Tehran, following the launch of projectiles from a nearby building, as reported by Al-Arabiya and other Arab sources.
In a detailed account provided by Hamas deputy chief Khalil Al-Hayya, the missile attack on Ismail Haniyeh’s residence in Tehran resulted in extensive damage, with windows, doors, and walls being obliterated. The strike occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. local time, targeting Haniyeh and one of his guards.
