Despite the dignified farewell, Mirundi’s final wishes were not fully honored. The late journalist had expressed a desire to be buried upright on his own land, a wish that was not fulfilled. Instead, he was interred in the family graveyard, a location he had previously rejected. This deviation from his will has sparked discussions among his supporters and family members, highlighting the complexities surrounding his final arrangements.

Vice President Alupo, along with other dignitaries, paid their respects by laying a wreath at Mirundi’s casket, reflecting the deep respect and admiration held for him by the Ugandan government and the public alike.
