Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are divorcing after two years of marriage. Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, as per court documents. The couple, known as Bennifer, married in Las Vegas in July 2022 and later held a larger ceremony in Georgia.

Their romance began while working together on the 2003 film Gigli. They had planned to marry that year but ended their relationship in early 2004. Nearly two decades later, they rekindled their relationship. In 2022, Lopez remarked on their reunion, saying, “Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”

The hicginewsagency reached out to their representatives for comment. According to the court filing, Lopez or her attorney must provide Affleck with a copy of the divorce petition. Reports indicate that Lopez, who changed her last name to Affleck, did not mention a prenuptial agreement in her divorce petition. The court documents require both Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, to disclose their financial information, including income, expenses, properties, and debts. They must report any financial changes until a final agreement is reached. Lopez has 60 days to submit her financial disclosure, and Affleck will have an additional 60 days to respond.

The filing notes that failing to provide or update financial information could lead to court-imposed sanctions. Speculation about their relationship has been ongoing, with reports that they listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $65 million and were seen separately without their wedding rings.

Affleck, a two-time Oscar winner, was previously married to Jennifer Garner, whom he met on the set of Pearl Harbor in 2001. They divorced in 2015 after ten years of marriage and have three children. Lopez has been married four times: first to Cuban-born waiter Ojani Noa (1997-98), then to her former backup dancer Cris Judd (2001-03), and to singer Marc Anthony, with whom she has twins (2004-14). Lopez was also previously engaged to New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez.
