The scandal erupted after a series of pornographic videos surfaced, purportedly showing Baltasar Ebang Engonga, the head of the country’s National Financial Investigation Agency, having sex with various women, including the wives of prominent officials. Engonga, who is also a relative of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema, has become the focal point of the controversy.

In response to the leaked videos, Obiang Mangue emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining professional standards within public institutions. As part of measures to address the issue, he announced plans to install surveillance cameras in key locations such as courts and ministries to monitor and deter any “indecent and illicit acts” among officials.

Engonga, facing public backlash, responded on social media with a post expressing sadness over the situation, sharing a photo of himself with a woman and children, and captioning it: “Family is everything.” The incident has ignited widespread discussions about corruption, ethics, and accountability within the nation’s civil service.

The viral leak has drawn significant attention not only for its shocking content but also for its potential political implications, as Engonga holds a powerful position in Equatorial Guinea’s government. The fallout from the scandal continues to unfold, with calls for greater transparency and accountability within the country’s leadership.
