Kampala – Former Leader of Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, and the newly announced leader of the Democratic Alliance (TDA), has urged all opposition forces to unite as part of a strategy to challenge and defeat the ruling government in the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking during a press conference held today at the Democratic Party (DP) Block headquarters in Namirembe, Kampala, Mpuuga emphasized the importance of a collective opposition effort to ensure victory. “We cannot afford to remain fragmented if we are serious about bringing change to this country,” Mpuuga said.

To achieve this, Mpuuga revealed his plans to engage with leaders of various opposition parties across the country. He intends to sell his vision for a united opposition and build consensus among the different factions. This initiative is aimed at fostering collaboration and presenting a formidable front against the ruling establishment.

Additionally, Mpuuga announced his preparation for a nationwide tour to galvanize support from the grassroots level. The tour, he said, will serve as a platform to interact with citizens and prepare them for the upcoming general elections.

The new Democratic Alliance leader expressed optimism about the prospects of unity and pledged to work tirelessly to ensure a coordinated opposition strategy. “This is not just about winning elections but about giving Ugandans the leadership they deserve,” he stated.

Mpuuga’s call for unity has reignited hopes among opposition supporters for a more coordinated effort ahead of the next elections. It remains to be seen how the other opposition parties will respond to his outreach.
