On Tuesday night, Uganda’s First Lady, Janet Kataaha Museveni, hosted American televangelist and philanthropist Dr. Michelle Corral at State House, Nakasero. Dr. Corral was accompanied by Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, President of Heal The Planet Global Organisation (HTP), which holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations. Also in attendance were Bishop Joshua Lwere, General Overseer Emeritus of the National Fellowship of Born-Again Churches, and senior State House staff.

In a warm and rare gesture, the First Lady embraced Dr. Corral, commending her for her dedication to Africa and her support for refugees, particularly at the Bidibidi and Nakivale Refugee Settlements.

Dr. Corral offered prayers for the First Lady and her family, asking for blessings of good health, protection, and prosperity for Uganda. She also reaffirmed a prophecy she shared during the 2nd East Africa Fire and Anointing Pastors Conference in September, where President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was represented by Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the First Lady was represented by Bishop Joshua Lwere. Dr. Corral prophesied that while the world may face oil scarcity in the coming years, Uganda would emerge as a critical supplier to address the global shortage.

Humanitarian Efforts at Bidibidi Refugee Settlement

Earlier on Monday, Dr. Corral visited Bidibidi, Africa’s largest refugee settlement. She donated household items worth $200,000 (tax-exempt) and sponsored a buffet for 5,000 refugees. Additionally, she ministered to 700 refugee pastors at a government-provided conference facility and organized a medical camp that treated thousands of patients, with support from doctors and medical staff supplied by the Ministry of Health.

During her visit, Dr. Corral received a prestigious award from Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin for her outstanding global humanitarian work, marking the 10th anniversary of Heal The Planet Global Organisation. She also presented an award to Lutwama Henry from Decent Africa for his contributions as a climate champion.

Speaking to HICGI News Agency, mission coordinators Bishop John Babu and James Sara expressed their gratitude to Dr. Corral for her commitment to fulfilling her promise to support refugees.

Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, formerly the world’s largest, hosts nearly 300,000 refugees, primarily from South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, and Somalia.
