ACP Musinga, who was previously the Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Busoga East, is now set to take on his new role in the Traffic department, a position he had held earlier as the commander for Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP). His return to this critical department underscores his wealth of experience and expertise in traffic management and road safety.

The reshuffle was announced by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abas Byakagaba, as part of a broader restructuring aimed at strengthening various operational areas within the police force. In an attachment issued by the police’s public relations officer on January 8, 2025, officers were congratulated for their new appointments and roles.

Musinga’s return to the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety is expected to bring fresh leadership and renewed focus on improving traffic management and reducing road accidents in the country. His extensive background in traffic command is seen as a valuable asset to the force as it seeks to enhance its efforts in promoting road safety nationwide.

This reshuffle is part of a broader initiative by IGP Byakagaba to revamp the police structure, ensuring the right officers are positioned in areas where they can make the most impact. The public is hopeful that this move will result in more effective enforcement of traffic laws and an improvement in the overall safety on Ugandan roads.
