Enhancing Education through Partnerships
The tour included a visit to Oil Palm Uganda Limited (OPUL), a subsidiary of BIDCO, where the Minister held discussions with the Managing Director and management team. Key deliberations centered on enhancing community support, particularly in education. OPUL, already supporting primary schools in Kalangala, pledged to extend its support to secondary education. The company committed to constructing a boys’ dormitory at Bishop Dunstan Secondary School in Kalangala Town Council, a move expected to improve access to boarding education for children in the district.

Expanding Access to Education
The Minister also toured Gyagenda Secondary School in Mulabana Sub-county, which is set to open this year. This new school will enhance access to secondary education for children in the area, reducing long travel distances and improving educational outcomes.
