Daniel Chapo has officially been sworn in as the President of Mozambique, taking office under a cloud of political tension as the opposition parties boycotted the ceremony. The boycott reflects growing dissatisfaction among opposition groups, who have alleged irregularities in the recent election process.
The inauguration ceremony, held in the capital city of Maputo, was attended by key government officials, foreign dignitaries, and regional leaders. In his inaugural address, President Chapo emphasized unity and economic development as priorities for his administration, pledging to address pressing challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and corruption.

However, the absence of opposition leaders at the event highlights the deep divisions in Mozambique’s political landscape.
