
The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) is set to release the results for the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) this week. According to a source within the board, the First Lady and Minister for Education and Sports, Ms. Janet Kataha Museveni, is expected to announce the results on Thursday, as scheduled.

A total of 798,763 candidates sat for the 2024 PLE examinations, with 419,357 females and 379,414 males participating. Notably, the number of candidates with special needs also saw an increase, with 3,295 students in this category, including 1,677 females (50.0%) and 1,618 males (49.1%).
The release of the PLE results marks a significant milestone in Uganda’s educational calendar. Following the announcement, students who successfully completed the PLE will proceed to the next phase of their academic journey. Primary Seven candidates are scheduled to report for Senior One (S1) on February 10, 2025, while those in Senior Four (S4) who hope to join Senior Five (S5) will begin their transition on February 24, 2025.
The forthcoming release of the results has generated much anticipation among parents, students, and educational stakeholders across the country. The Ministry of Education and UNEB are hopeful that the examination process will have been concluded without any hitches, ensuring smooth transitions for the students into the next level of education.
