(HICGI) – Kylian Mbappé scored the first hat-trick of his Real Madrid career, leading the team to a dominant 3-0 victory over Valladolid on Saturday.

The Frenchman’s debut season in Spain has been hampered by injuries and inconsistent form, but he looked back to his brilliant best as he inspired Real Madrid to extend their lead at the top of the La Liga table to four points.
Mbappé opened the scoring in the 30th minute, combining seamlessly with Jude Bellingham in a quick one-two before calmly slotting the ball past the Valladolid goalkeeper.
His second came in the second half from a lightning-fast counter-attack. Receiving a precise pass from Rodrygo inside the box, Mbappé unleashed a clinical shot into the far corner, leaving the defense and goalkeeper with no chance.

With the victory all but secured for Madrid, the match took a dramatic turn when Mario Martín was sent off for a high challenge on Jude Bellingham. Despite being down to 10 men, Madrid remained composed, and Mbappé sealed his hat-trick in style, converting from the penalty spot with confidence.
Earlier in the day, title rivals Atlético Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Villarreal, allowing Carlo Ancelotti’s side to capitalize and extend their lead at the top of the La Liga table. The win marked Madrid’s fourth consecutive league triumph, reinforcing their dominance in the title race.

“I’m happy with the hat-trick, but more importantly, I’m thrilled with the three points,” Mbappé told Real Madrid TV. “It was crucial to win today, especially with Atlético’s result putting extra pressure on us.
“We started strong, pressing high in their half, and managed to get the opening goal. After halftime, there were about 10 minutes where we could have done better, but once we scored the second, we controlled the game well from that point forward.”

Mbappé has now scored an impressive eight goals in his last five appearances, including five in his past two league games following a brace against Las Palmas last weekend.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti lauded the striker’s scintillating form after the match, telling reporters: “Mbappé has been performing at this level for a while now. It’s the first time he’s scored three goals in a game for us, and he’s making a huge impact on the team. He’s found his rhythm, which is a big boost for us because he’s a player of extraordinary quality.”
Up next, Madrid will face French side Brest in the Champions League on Wednesday. Having already secured a spot in at least the playoff round of the knockout stages, Ancelotti’s men will look to maintain their momentum in Europe.
