Niki Prasad, who led the reigning champions to a successful title defense, shared her thoughts on the future of the Class of 2025.
India’s newly crowned ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup winners already have their sights set on more titles.
Speaking to media, after her team’s historic victory on Sunday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, skipper Niki Prasad discussed what lies ahead for the champions.
“Coming into the tournament, I said we were here to dominate and ensure India remains on top,” she said.
“Our goal is to build a legacy of winning—starting with this tournament and extending to future ICC events for India.”
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be standing here as a world champion, contributing to India’s success. This is a special moment—playing in this World Cup and achieving this for my country.”
Reflecting on their clinical performance in the summit clash, Prasad said,
“We focused on staying calm and sticking to our roles.”
“Had we won the toss, we would have definitely chosen to bat. But throughout the tournament, our bowling has been a strong point. Regardless, we were determined to go out there and showcase our abilities.”
