Three Dead, Several Hospitalized After Fire Guts Sunrise Hotel in Kampala.

Kampala, March 5, 2025 – A devastating fire broke out at Sunrise Hotel in Kampala, leaving at least three people dead and several others injured. Emergency response teams, including the Uganda Red Cross and the Police Fire and Rescue Services, rushed to the scene to battle the raging inferno and rescue those trapped inside.

By midday, ambulances from the Uganda Police Force and the Uganda Red Cross were seen evacuating survivors to nearby hospitals for medical attention. Meanwhile, firefighters struggled to contain the flames, which had been burning for five hours.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and investigations are currently underway. The Police Fire and Rescue Services, along with other emergency teams, are continuing their efforts to assess the extent of the damage and ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
