According to the gazette notice, Nalukoola’s total vote count has increased by 175 votes from the initial tally. The reason for this adjustment has not been explicitly stated by the EC, but the final results reaffirm his victory.

The gazette also indicates an increase in votes for Faridah Nambi, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate. Nambi’s vote count now stands at 9,058, up from the previously recorded 8,593. This adjustment reflects a difference of 465 votes from the initial figures.

Nalukoola, who contested on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket, had earlier expressed his interest in the race by submitting his academic credentials at the party headquarters in Makerere Kavule on February 3, 2025. His victory further solidifies NUP’s dominance in the constituency, which has remained an opposition stronghold.

Following the announcement, Nalukoola was seen atop a vehicle celebrating with his supporters as he made his way to the NUP headquarters. His win marks another significant milestone for the party in the political landscape of Uganda.

With the results now gazetted, Nalukoola is expected to take office as the duly elected Member of Parliament for Kawempe North. However, it remains to be seen whether any legal challenges will arise regarding the electoral process.
