Kampala — Day One of the Light Up Uganda for Jesus 2025 conference opened with a powerful message from Elder Odrek Rwabwogo, son-in-law to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Speaking to a packed audience at Kololo Independence Grounds, Rwabwogo warned against the reintroduction of the Bachwezi—a legendary group often associated with traditional mysticism and ancestral worship.

The conference, running from May 19th to 24th under the theme “Fix a Man, Fix the World,” aims to inspire spiritual and moral transformation, particularly among men. Rwabwogo challenged attendees to embrace faith as a foundation for national development and economic prosperity, emphasizing the impact of spiritual values on Uganda’s export growth and leadership integrity.

“If salvation is your heritage, don’t reintroduce the Bachwezi. Don’t bring back witchcraft,” Rwabwogo preached passionately. “Remember where you have come from. Your children must be the first to carry salvation forward.”
His message also addressed the everyday struggles men face—at home, in the marketplace, and in positions of leadership—calling for spiritual renewal as a path to national transformation.

In a video message, Dr. LaDonna Osborn, a prominent American pastor and one of the conference’s featured speakers, extended her greetings: “It is with great joy and anticipation that I invite you to join us for the ‘Light Up Uganda for Jesus – Mission 2025.’”

The week-long gathering has drawn notable Ugandan Pentecostal leaders alongside clergy from the Church of Uganda, marking a significant moment of unity in the Christian community.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected the close the conference on Saturday.
HICGI News Agency will continue to provide updates throughout the conference.
