Munich, Germany – Paris Saint-Germain have etched their name into the annals of football history, claiming their first-ever UEFA Champions League title with a stunning 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena.

The French giants, long considered one of Europe’s elite yet elusive in their pursuit of continental glory, finally delivered on the grandest stage. In a performance that will be remembered for years to come, PSG dismantled the Italian side with pace, precision, and relentless attacking football.

A Dream Start

PSG struck early, silencing any nerves with a goal in the 8th minute. Kylian Mbappé, who was electric throughout the match, latched onto a perfectly weighted pass from Marco Verratti and slotted the ball past Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer to open the scoring.

From that point forward, it was one-way traffic.

Complete Dominance

By halftime, PSG had doubled their lead through a thunderous strike by Achraf Hakimi, capitalizing on a loose ball at the edge of the box. Inter, usually defensively resilient, looked stunned and short of answers as they struggled to contain PSG’s fluid front line.

The second half saw no let-up. Mbappé added his second and PSG’s third with a blistering counterattack in the 56th minute. Minutes later, Ousmane Dembélé made it 4-0 with a composed finish following a brilliant solo run. The final blow came in the 84th minute when captain Marquinhos headed home from a corner, sealing the record-breaking 5-0 victory—the largest margin in a Champions League final in the modern era.

A Long-Awaited Triumph

For PSG, this triumph represents the culmination of years of heavy investment and relentless pursuit of European success. Since being acquired by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011, the club has dominated French football but repeatedly fell short in Europe—until now.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, visibly emotional after the final whistle, hailed the victory as “a dream come true for the club, the city, and the fans.”

Manager Luis Enrique, who took charge just a season ago, praised his team’s discipline and hunger. “This wasn’t just a win—it was a statement,” he said. “The players showed incredible spirit, unity, and quality. We made history tonight.”

Mbappé Bows Out in Style?

Speculation will only intensify now regarding the future of Kylian Mbappé, who is widely expected to leave the club this summer. If this was indeed his final appearance in PSG colors, he couldn’t have scripted a more fitting farewell—two goals, an assist, and a winner’s medal.

Inter Outclassed

For Inter Milan, the loss is a bitter pill to swallow. The Serie A champions came into the match with confidence, but were simply overwhelmed by PSG’s intensity and clinical edge. Manager Simone Inzaghi admitted his side were “outplayed in every department” and praised PSG’s performance as “one of the finest finals ever seen.”

A New Era for PSG

With the monkey off their back, PSG now enter a new chapter. No longer burdened by past failures, they’ve finally reached the summit of European football. For their fans, the wait is over. Paris, at last, has its champions.
