Algiers, Algeria |Updated at 1330 EAT on Thursday 25ty June 2025— Africa’s largest country, strategically located in North Africa along the Mediterranean Sea, is asserting itself as a rising global power. Algeria, uniquely free from foreign debt and offering its citizens free access to essential social services such as housing, education, and healthcare, is now making significant strides in defense manufacturing.

At the ongoing 56th Algiers International Fair (FIA 2025), over 700 exhibitors from around the world have gathered to showcase a wide array of products and innovations. Among the most striking displays is Algeria’s growing military-industrial capability, including various types of firearms, tanks, drones, explosives, and advanced defense technology—now available for international procurement by governments and defense agencies.

Beyond military hardware, Algeria is also promoting its locally manufactured civilian goods. High-quality, competitively priced domestic products are attracting traders and importers from across Africa and beyond, offering a cost-effective alternative to many international markets.

The Algiers International Fair was officially opened on Monday, June 23, by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and will run until Friday, June 28, 2025. HICGI News Agency has been officially accredited by the Algerian government to provide coverage of this prestigious event.
