The National Women’s Basketball Team, the Gazelles, is set to take their preparations for the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket to Egypt.
The announcement was made through an official statement released by the Gazelles’ media team.
“The Gazelles will intensify their preparations for the upcoming FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 with a high-performance training camp in Egypt,” the statement read in part.
The Gazelles are scheduled to depart for Cairo on Friday, July 11, where they will participate in three practice games against Egypt, Rwanda, and Cameroon.
These matches will take place at Mostapha Sports Halls in Cairo from July 12 to 15, providing the team with vital opportunities to sharpen their skills ahead of the continental tournament.
Following the practice games, the team will relocate to Alexandria to focus on team cohesion and tactical refinement as they prepare for the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025.
The team will depart from Alexandria on July 24 en route to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where the highly anticipated AfroBasket tournament kicks off two days later.
