Kampala – The Bible Presbyterian Church Africa (BPCA) has celebrated its 15th anniversary at its headquarters in Lungujja Kosovo, Kampala, in a colorful event that also saw the ordination of two new teaching elders.
During the celebrations, Colonel Simon Mwebaze and Mr. Mucunguzi Emmanuel were officially ordained as teaching elders, joining the church’s leadership in guiding the spiritual growth of its congregation.
The occasion drew guests from across the faith and business communities, including members of the Acrobatic Mission Fellowship and the Kampala Business Community Families Fellowship, led by businessman and preacher Najja Nsubuga Musoke Emmanuel II.

In his address, BPCA Leader Pastor Rev. David T. Baguma reflected on the humble beginnings of the ministry, which officially began on August 1, 2010.
“Before BPCA started, none of us had planned to form a new church,” Rev. Baguma recounted. “But as Scripture says, everything has its time. Our former church faced challenges, especially on transparency and accountability. When I raised concerns, resistance grew — and after over 12 years of struggle, it became clear that God was calling for a new, transparent and accountable fellowship as the true body of Christ.”

Rev. Baguma, who was ordained in the Presbyterian Church of Uganda in 1992 and had served in senior leadership roles, narrated how the idea for BPCA was affirmed by an elder who encouraged him to start a new congregation. Within weeks, a space was found in Kisenyi, a Kampala slum, where the first service attracted over 45 worshippers, with more than 30 becoming members.

The anniversary also featured a keynote message from Rev. Dr. Kefa Ssempangi, who commended Rev. Baguma for his perseverance and the church’s impact over the years.
BPCA’s vision remains clear: “Christian Believers Walking in the Light in Uganda.”
