Scores of families in Katwe, a ghetto community in Kampala, were filled with joy after receiving food items including rice, sugar, and soap, donated by American Philanthropist Dr. Joan Ross, Director of The Joseph Project USA, in a Christmas humanitarian outreach.

The relief items were delivered on 24 December 2025 by Heal The Planet Global Organisation (HTP), led by its President, Dr. Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, L.H.D. (Hon.), alongside HTP staff.

The beneficiaries were impoverished Karamojong families, many of whom frequently migrate to Kampala streets in search of survival through begging. The donation provided timely relief and renewed hope during the festive season, a period that often intensifies hardship for vulnerable households.

Karamajong community leaders welcomed the initiative, with one of the leaders, Nangilo Paul, expressing joy and appreciation for the gifts. He said the food support would significantly ease the daily struggles faced by many families and thanked Dr. Joan Ross, The Joseph Project USA, and Heal The Planet Global Organisation for remembering the community during the Christmas season.
