Matugga to Host Gospel Music Launch and 29-Year Ministry Celebration by Rev. Prince George Kalema

By Dr. Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, L.H.D (Hon)

MATUGGA, Uganda — Renowned gospel minister Rev. Prince George Kalema is set to launch his latest gospel music project titled “Obutabanguuko Mu Maka” (translated as Divorce Isn’t the Solution), during a special event scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026 in Matugga.

The launch will coincide with Rev. Kalema’s celebration of 29 years in the ministry of Gospel Art, marking nearly three decades of faith-based music, ministry, and community outreach. Organizers say the new songs carry a strong message encouraging families to remain united, inspired by the biblical teaching in Gospel of Mark 10:9, which emphasizes the sanctity of marriage and warns against separation.

According to Rev. Kalema, the music project addresses pressing social issues affecting families, including divorce, family separation, child neglect, and harmful cultural practices. The event will feature what he describes as an “educational, choreographical, historical, and artistic gospel presentation from the heart.”

The celebration will bring together several gospel performers and church groups, including Gospel singer Pastor Twina Herbert , the Divine Gospel Musician, the Matugga Zone Youth Worship Team, and a number of children and school choirs. Participating choirs are expected from institutions such as Wisdom City Vocational Secondary School, Revival Grammar Schools, Divine Life International School Matugga, Arise Learning Center, and All Nations Reformed Infant School Ssanga.
