Iranian drones targeted fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport, triggering a large fire, while Bahrain authorities reported a blaze at an undisclosed company facility, as the US–Israel conflict with Iran enters its fifth week.

Abdullah al-Rajhi, spokesman for Kuwait’s General Directorate of Civil Aviation, described the incident on Wednesday as “brazen attacks by drones from Iran and the armed factions it supports.”

Iranian drone raids on Kuwait International Airport targeted fuel tanks, “leading to a large fire breaking out at the site,” Abdullah al-Rajhi, spokesman for the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, told the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Emergency teams responded promptly, and al-Rajhi said the “damage is material with no human injuries.”

In Bahrain, the Ministry of Interior reported that civil defence crews were “extinguishing a fire in a facility of a company as a result of Iranian aggression.” The ministry added that “relevant authorities are taking their measures at the site,” without identifying the company.

A tanker was struck by an unknown projectile near Qatar’s capital, Doha, damaging the hull at the waterline, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said. The crew were reported safe.

The vessel was hit approximately 17 nautical miles (32 km) north of Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial hub, the nation’s primary gas production facility, which suffered significant damage from Iranian missile strikes last month.

Qatar’s Ministry of Defence confirmed the incident, saying the country was targeted by three cruise missiles launched from Iran, one of which struck the oil tanker.

In a post on X, Qatar’s Ministry of Defence said it intercepted two of the missiles, while a third struck a tanker leased to QatarEnergy. The tanker’s 21-person crew was safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

In the United Arab Emirates, the official WAM news agency reported that shrapnel from a drone interception fell on a farm in the al-Rifaa area of Fujairah city, killing a Bangladeshi national. Authorities are reportedly responding to the incident.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense said several drones were “intercepted and destroyed,” with no injuries reported.

The oil-rich Gulf region has borne the brunt of Iran’s attacks in retaliation for US–Israeli airstrikes on the country.
While Iran says its strikes target US assets in the region, Gulf nations report that civilian infrastructure has been hit.

A United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report on Tuesday estimated that the Arab world’s gross domestic product (GDP) could decline by 3.7 to 6 percent after just one month of war, equivalent to losses of $120 billion to $194 billion.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump and his administration have issued conflicting statements about the timeline for ending the conflict. “We’ll be leaving very soon,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday, suggesting a withdrawal could occur “within two or three weeks.”

Washington had previously warned it would escalate operations if Tehran did not accept a 15-point US ceasefire framework, which included commitments by Iran not to pursue nuclear weapons, to halt all uranium enrichment, and to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran rejected the proposal as “maximalist” and “unreasonable,” emphasizing that it does not seek war and is calling for a permanent end to the conflict. Iran has also demanded compensation for the damage caused by US–Israeli strikes.
