The King of the most powerful kingdom in Africa, His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has has closed the Buganda Youth Conference at Hotel AFricana in Kampala Uganda where thousands of youth have gathered to be enlightened about The Buganda Agenda and Development as the Kingdom prepares to celebrate its silver jubilee on 31st July 2018.
In his brief remarks, The Kabaka has said that in spite of the achievements, there’s no need to rest as the journey is still long.
“Prepare for next chapter, speak with one voice without fear or divisions on the very things that affect us” adds Kabaka Mutebi.
He has also called upon the youth to dedicate more time in studies to favorably compete in the job market stating also “Stop looking for work in foreign countries especially those where our people have faced so much suffering.”
In his remarks Katikilo Charles Peter Mayiga has called upon the youth to be hard working as they wait for federo system of governance.
Mayiga has appreciated Mr. Pius Bigirimana the Permanent Secretary from the ministry of Gender as well as Hon Nakiwala Kiyingi for contributing towards arrangements who earlier also addressed the youth.
The yout have resolved to;
1- Arrange the Buganda Youth Conference annually.
2-Establish Buganda Youth Resource Centre for Research, Skilling and job creation.
3- Revive arrangement of taking Buganda Youth Overseas for further education and training and bring those skills to build the future.
4- Empower Youth Groups and Cooperatives for personal development and income generation.
5- Orient parents on vocational training necessary for youth.
Several motivational and inspiration speakers have addressed the youth on several subjects.
Ghanaian Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II is expected in Uganda during the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Kabaka Mutebi at the end of the month
