
A coalition of more than 70 UN accredited NGOs is calling on the United Nations Human Rights Council to adopt a resolution on the human rights situation in Cuba and to appoint a special rapporteur to monitor human rights in Cuba. The resolution strongly condemns human rights violations by Cuba, including violations of the rights to freedom of expression and association, and the widespread use of arbitrary arrests and detention along with other forms of intimidation and harassment as a tool to suppress political dissent.
