Indian Women Association of UG Boss eulogised – Special Tribute

Kampala Capital City Authority – KCCA has eulogised fallen Chairperson of The Indian Women Association of Uganda Suman Venkatesh. In a statement released, KCCA said “We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our Dear friend, Suman Venkatesh”

KCCA added that over the years, the Association has offered tremendous support towards improving the learning environment of school going pupils in the City.

Mrs. Venkatesh died on Monday July 12 at 20:00am local time from India where she was returned for specialized treatment, the association said.

“It is with deep regret to inform the untimely passing away of Indian Women Association Chairperson Mrs.Suman Venkatesh on 12/07/21 at 2.00am in india”

“The memories of all precious time spent with her will always reside in our hearts and will never to be forgotten,” the Association added in a death announcement on Monday.

The association didn’t provide more details about her death.

Along with her community service, Venkatesh promoted the welfare and wellbeing on Indian Women in Uganda in Education, Cultural Unity, and Socialism.

During her leadership, the association provided Incubators to Hospitals, Sewing Machines to the women to make them self-sufficient, Educational scholarships to the meritorious students, Clothes and Accessories to the Flood Victims.

They also built toilets for Girl Students, Sponsoring Heart Surgeries in India to Children, donating Cycles for Girl Students to commute, renovating school, Building Maternity Ward, Free Cancer screening camps for women among other.
