KAMPALA- Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Buganda King His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II on Tuesday held meeting at Nakasero State Lodge.

This followed drastic tensions emanating from proposed Mailo Land tenure talks by top officials from Uganda Government angering Mengo, the Kingdom Headquarters prompting the Kabaka to make direct reactions against the regime during his 28th Coronation Anniversary address on Saturday.
His Majesty was in the company of Katikilo Charles Peter Mayiga, and Prince David Wasajja (brother to the king)
In a tweet Museveni confirmed this meeting but declined to state issues at hand “We discussed matters of mutual interest.” President Museveni. adding “I thank His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II for the courtesy call.”
Museveni’s new Respect for the Kabaka
Museveni shifted tone and use of the title to address the Kabaka as his “His Majesty” contrary to “His Highness” he has always been using while referring to him.
From reliable sources HICGI News Agency has learnt, President Museveni is concerned about the direction of Buganda following what experts stated as a vote of no confidence when the regime lost massively in Buganda in the concluded elections. Sources indicate, Museveni is moving towards reconciling with Mengo for strategic relations.
Buganda Premier Charles Peter Mayiga, in a news conference at Bulange said Museveni’s meeting with Kabaka was for national interest.
