AFD Specialists discuss Kampala Digital Transformation

KAMPALA- The Agence Francaise De Development -AFD officials recently conducted AFD Identification Mission on Digital Transition in Kampala with two specialists on Digital Transformation from the Headquarters; Ms Christine HA, Tusk Team Leader and Mr. Francis L Nomme, Program Manager.

The aim of this mission deals with identification of opportunities linked to the digital transformation with ideas of understanding Kampala Capital City – KCCA needs in terms of numeral solutions and digital applications, building a clear vision of the current situation and identification of coming opportunities to the digital transformation.

Before an extensive engagement with KCCA Deputy Director Eng David Luyimbazi at City Hall, AFD specialists were taken into a presentation with KCCA AGSGIS official Ms Flavia Zabali Musisi and ASToN Project coordinator at KCCA Ms Agnes Kahwa.

Martin Ssekajja , ASToN Project Manager and Deputy Director IT at KCCA welcomed the officials and lauded the support AFD gives Kampala.

During an extra meeting with KCCA Deputy ED, the officials expressed satisfaction with the work of KCCA towards digitalizing Kampala. Eng Luyimba discussed more areas that need funding towards transforming Kampala into a Smart City.

The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group funds, supports and accelerates the transition to a fairer and more sustainable world. Focusing on climate, biodiversity, peace, education, urban development, health and governance. AFD teams carry out more than 4,000 projects in France’s overseas departments and territories and another 115 countries. In this way, AFD contributes to the commitment of France and French people to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
