Kyagulanyi, Mayiga and Mpuuga In Crisis Meeting

The president of National Unity Platform political party Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has engaged in a closed door meeting with the Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga and the leader of opposition Mathias Mpuuga.

Key on the agenda is the impasse and friction between NUP party leaders each accusing the other of several leadership weaknesses.

In December last 2022, several voices from the party headquarters in Kamwokya accused Mpuuga of being compromised by the speaker Anita Annet Among and sidelining with her.

Others accused Mpuuga of failure to bring unity among MPs as many have focused on backstabbing each other before the party president without a clear purpose.

The meeting kicked off at 10:30AM at Mayiga’s office at the kingdom headquarters in Bulange Mengo, Kampala.

Mpuuga arrived by 9:40 while Kyagulanyi, Flavia Kalule Nabagabe the Kassanda Woman Mp arrived by 10:20.

Also in attendance is the kingdom’s minister of Information and Cabinet, Owek Noah Kiyimba.

The meeting is expected to harmonize the friction that has lasted for nearly one year.
