On February 1st 2023, Ugandans woke to an unfortunate video that has since gone viral. The video indicates the station Manager of 91.5 FM Kanungu Radio Nelson Twinamatsiko beating his subordinate and female Journalist Anita Tumuramye. Blood is seen at the floor of the fight within the office premises.

It is reported that trouble started when Tumuramye asked the manager to payout her commission of UGX 12000 from a business she had brought to the station. The manager ignored her request and ordered her to vacate the office premises. This happened last week.

Tumuramye was suspended from duty with immediate effect.

Several women rights organizations, female journalists are up in arms demanding for police action against the Manager.

Others have expressed worry that the minister for ICT Dr. Chris Baryomunsi who is the radio director will jeopardize investigations.
