After a police officer named Rutema Innocent who was wanted by the DR Congo, Rutembesa Innocent, a former military journalist who escaped in 2018 and went to Rwanda, was added as wanted by Republic Democratic of Congo.
This Rutembesa Innocent is a resident of Kabizu village, from the territory of Rutchuro in the district of Tongo, North Kivu province. He is at Wanted by the government of the Republic of Congo.

Sources indicate that Innocent is wanted by the Army of the Democratic Republic of Congo FARDC, he was working as a journalist close to intelligence sector from 2012 up to 2018.

When the deputy spokesman of the Congolese army spoke on security and the war in Congo on Radio France 24 in January 2023 , he also said that the former journalist of the DRC army was being hunted by the government for a few days and they established where he was.

The spokesperson continued that Rutembesa Innocent is in Uganda as a refugee and the only thing left is to bring him back to Congo alive.

Radio Okapi from Congo, and Radio France 24 from France, spoke to the army spokesman Patrick Muyaya about Rutembesa Innocent . He however said innocent is not at wanted but better for him to be brought back to the side of the government.

Rutembesa Innocent is accused of political offences against the government of the Republic of Congo with the help of the government of Rwanda. On 07 of May 2019, he was arrested in Rwanda.

After eighteen months , Innocent Rutembesa imprisoned in Rwanda, he was accused of six offences these included betraying the country , talking abusive words to the president ,fighting against the government, causing strikes in the Republic and others. According to BBC Radio, Innocent’s imprisonment in Rwanda was a deal between Rwanda government and the Congo government so that they can capture him and for the government of Congo they had put a death sentence against Innocent .

His family was killed after he had fled from Congo.

In January D R Congo confirmed 5000 us dollars was put by the government for the one who will get him alive, and 1000 us dollars to the one who will bring full information about this person.
