LONDON & KAMPALA – Uganda’s Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja recently was nominated of the African Female Leader of the Year 2024 by the 14th African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year 2024. The heated competition driven by participation in the Online Voting Process is waiting anoincing of the winner.

“On behalf of the board, and the Publisher & Executive Chairman of the African Leadership Organisation, Dr. Ken Giami, we are pleased to officially notify you of your nomination for the African Female Leader of the Year, a category of the 14th African Leadership Magazine

Nabbanja was nominated by a broad and engaged crosssection of readers, stakeholders, and followers, who enthusiastically responded to the call
for nominations shared through extensive digital media networks.
The ALM Persons of the Year (POTY) Awards is Africa’s premier vote-based endorsement, reserved annually for the leading Africans, contributing to promoting the continent’s progress, and positively altering Africa’s perceived negative image. The annual award has
a 2-step selection process, which provides an unparalleled opportunity for Africans from across the globe to participate in the nomination and selection process of Africa’s most inspiring leaders across various spheres of life in the year under review.
The call for nomination is the first stage that kicks off the series of activities, followed by the public voting phase through an online poll for a truly inclusive selection process.
In line with the selection process, the African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year online voting officially commenced 04th December and closed at midnight (CAT) on Thursday, 12
December 2024.

Subsequently, all winners will be announced and formally invited to the
14th African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year Awards ceremony to receive their award trophies and other instruments of honor. The ceremony is scheduled for 27–28
February 2025 in Casablanca, Morocco, under the theme: “Inclusive Leadership for an Interconnected Africa: New Paradigms for Future Realities”.
The African Female Leader of the Year is open to an African woman who has defied the odds and risen above the patriarchal systems in the continent to positively affect the continent or influence women to aspire for excellence in various fields. Her nomination for this category is in recognition of her leadership as Prime Minister of Uganda marked by a deep commitment to driving the country’s socio-economic development and
advancing key national priorities. Under her guidance, Uganda has made significant strides towards achieving its Vision 2040 goals, with a particular focus on public service reform, gender equality, and economic empowerment.
Her proactive approach to addressing
national challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, has positioned her as a key figure in shaping Uganda’s political and economic landscape. Additionally, her dedication to enhancing governance through greater transparency and accountability has been
instrumental in promoting better public service.
Nabbanja’s tireless efforts to empower women and champion sustainable development make her a highly deserving nominee for recognition as an African leader in governance and development.
She was nominated alongside the following leaders for category:
1) Antoinette Sayeh, Deputy Managing Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF)
2) Helen Oritsejafor, Nigerian Philanthropist & Businesswoman
3) Patricia Obo-Nai, CEO, Telecel Ghana
The ALM Persons of the Year (POTY) awards presentation ceremony is a flagship annual event of the African Leadership Magazine, which has been held consecutively over the past 12 years, convening policymakers, private sector leaders, civil society leaders, thought
leaders, and all stakeholders from across Africa and the rest of the world to discuss issues concerning Africa’s socio-economic growth and development. The event has also become a prestigious platform for honouring people-centred leadership and Africans who are pursuing a pan-African agenda in their chosen fields of endeavour.
