Uganda has received H.E. Azouz Nasri, President of the Council of the Nation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, who is in the country to represent H.E. Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the swearing-in ceremony of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Nasri arrived on Sunday alongside a 10-member delegation ahead of the inauguration of President Museveni for his seventh term, scheduled for May 12, 2026.
According to sources at State House, his visit underscores the strengthening bilateral relations between Uganda and Algeria, particularly in the areas of diplomacy, trade, energy, and mining. The visit also reflects a shared commitment by both nations to advancing peace, sovereignty, and continental cooperation across Africa.
