The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) Zakat Department has introduced a new digital platform aimed at simplifying the payment of Zakat and Swadaqa while enhancing transparency and accountability in the management of Islamic charitable contributions.

According to the Head of the Zakat and Swadaqa Department, Sheikh Kaloozi Abdulbarri Muhammad, the online initiative was established to make it easier for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligations conveniently while ensuring that contributions are properly managed and directed to areas of greatest need.
Sheikh Kaloozi noted that the system is designed to promote transparency in the collection and distribution of funds, as well as improve support for vulnerable communities, mosque activities, and various development projects under the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.

The newly introduced platform allows users to make payments online using mobile money services.
