President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has returned to Uganda after a productive two-day working visit to the United Republic of Tanzania, where he witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the Tanga Regional Energy Hub.









The MoU was signed in Dar es Salaam between the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and Vitol Bahrain E.C. The agreement is aimed at advancing the development of the Tanga Regional Energy Hub and strengthening energy cooperation between Uganda and Tanzania.
President Museveni witnessed the signing alongside Tanzania’s President, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
In a message following his return home, President Museveni thanked President Samia and the people of Tanzania for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during the visit.

The Tanga Regional Energy Hub is expected to contribute to regional energy security and enhance cooperation in the petroleum sector between the two neighbouring countries.
President Museveni’s visit further underscores the strong bilateral relations and growing economic cooperation between Uganda and Tanzania.
