Embrace East Africa Returns on November 7 to Champion Regional Integration and Youth Leadership

KAMPALA, UGANDA — Embrace East Africa is set to return on Saturday, November 7, 2026, with a youth-focused event at Kitante Primary School in Kampala, aimed at promoting regional unity, integration, and prosperity among East African communities.

Held under the theme of “Unity, Integration and Prosperity,” the gathering will bring together young people, leaders, and other stakeholders to champion regional cooperation and encourage the youth to take an active role in advancing the East African integration agenda.
Organisers say the event will feature a youth march, a youth summit, keynote presentations, and opportunities for participants to engage with issues affecting the region’s future.

Youth March and Summit
Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a youth march from Kampala City Hall to Kitante Primary School. The march is intended to demonstrate young people’s commitment to regional unity and cooperation.

At 9:30 a.m, participants will convene at Kitante Primary School for the Youth Summit, where discussions and engagements will focus on the role of young people in strengthening East African integration.

The event comes at a time when youth participation, cross-border cooperation, economic opportunities, and regional solidarity remain important considerations for East Africa’s social and economic development.

Prominent Leaders and Speakers Expected
The event’s programme lists His Worship Eng. Salongo Ronald Nsubuga Baliwenzo, Lord Mayor of Kampala, as Chief Walker, while Rt. Hon. Rebecca A. Kadaga, Minister of East African Affairs and First Deputy Prime Minister, is listed as Chief Guest.

The programme also identifies Ambassador Dickson Ogwang and Robert Nowele, Director of Revenue Corrections at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), among the keynote speakers.

Malcolm Isaac Bulamu, Chief Executive Officer and Team Leader of Embrace East Africa, is the event host.
Their participation, as outlined in the event programme, is expected to help highlight the importance of leadership, public engagement, and youth involvement in advancing regional cooperation.

Young People at the Centre of Integration
Embrace East Africa is placing young people at the centre of its message, recognising their potential to influence the region’s social, economic, and political future.

Through the march and summit, the organisers aim to encourage young people to see regional integration not merely as a government initiative but also as a shared responsibility involving communities, institutions, businesses, and individual citizens.

A more integrated East Africa offers opportunities for cooperation in trade, education, tourism, employment, innovation, and cultural exchange. Young people can contribute to these opportunities by developing regional networks, embracing diversity, and participating in initiatives that promote peace and mutual understanding.
The event’s message, “Young People Driving the East Africa Integration Agenda,” underscores the importance of empowering the next generation to contribute to a stronger and more connected region.
