He is apparently in a private room at Mulago  National Referal Hospital being taken care of by his wife.

HTP President Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin paid visit to him at the hospital on Friday last week and shared his grief for the condition he is in.

Mr. Todt , the United Nations Secretary -General Special envoy for Road Safety recently expressed concern over the alarming rate of accident deaths on Ugandan roads adding that road crashes cost the Government of Uganda Shs.4.4 trillion (US$1.2 billion) annually which, he observed, represents 5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

“On average, Uganda loses 10 people per day in road traffic crashes, which is the highest in East Africa,” said Mr. Todt as he handed over the report on Uganda to President Museveni.

There apparently no hospitals to receive and treat accident victims on major highways in Uganda puting the lives of citizens in danger. Recently UPDF Helicopter was used to air lift accident victims comprising of civil servants on the same highway to Kampala where they were treated.

Meanwhile another opposition Ugandan politician Betty Nambooze Bakireke on Mukono North is being hospitalised in India following back injury she sustained during the removal of presidential age limit debate at Uganda Parliament. The government has spent more than 500 million Ugandan Shillings so far on her treatment.
