The United Nations Resident Coordinator for Uganda and Designated official for Security to Uganda H.E Rosa Malango has called for rebranding of Northern Uganda.
Upon her arrival in Gulu moments ago (Monday 17th May 2021), she said “By Wednesday the story of the region must end. We can longer focus on the past to define the future of Northern Uganda.”
She noted that United Nations has poured millions of dollars in humanitarian aid to the region following the end of the Lord’s Resistance Army – LRA insurgency under War lord and fugitive Joseph Kony but the region can no longer survive on aid.
“We want investments that is going going to change the face of the people of the North.” Malango added.

She hailed President Museveni’s government for the improvement of infrastructure and development in the city of Gulu.
Speaking to HICGI News Agency, Malango said the UN UG Northern Mission is on SDGs awareness and UN Critical Programs.
On this trip she is accompanied by UN officials, leaders of Civil Societies and some members of the Youth Coalition for SDGs.
