MP Ssegirinya Woes: Constituency Medical Center Closed.

Kawempe North Medical center, a health facility established by the area Member of Parliament Muhammed Sseggirinya has been closed and medical equipment uninstalled for lack of funds to sustain the facility.

Thomas Bagonza the administrator of the facility says they have resolved to donate the equipment to other medical facilities in Kawempe North so they can be of good use to the community.

“We can’t afford to pay rent for this facility because our vision bearer is in prison. Instead of putting the equipment in a store somewhere to rust and the drugs to expire, it’s important that we give it out to other medical facilities to continue serving our people”. Said Bagonza.

Bagonza has not disclosed which medical facilities are going f to receive the supplies.

Few months after being voted for Member of Parliament Kawempe North, Muhammed Ssegirinya put up Kawempe North medical center to extend health services to his electorates.

His dream got a still birth after being arrested on charges of murder and terrorism.

Sseggirinya together with Allan Ssewanyana the Makindye East Mp have been on remand in Luzira prison for one year and five months. The MPs are accused of sponsoring a gang of killers who attacked and hacked over 20 people in Masaka subregion between July and September 2021.

MP Allan Ssewanyana is admitted at Mulago National referral Hospital battling a strange disease.

The high court in Kampala will next week hear their bail application.
