MITYANA- Kiwanda Godfrey Ssuubi, National Residence Movement-NRM Vice Chairperson for Buganda and former Minister for Tourism and Antiquities has launched “Kisoboka” Agricultural Expo. The launch which took place on Thursday in Mityana North is aimed at promoting the Productivity and Profitability of agricultural products.
The Expo covering Mityana, Kiboga, Mubende and other places in Buganda is going to enable farmers to exhibit their products and also link them to a bigger market. He has deployed facilitators to train them on high mechanized agriculture and genuine agrochemical specialists.
The Expo will take place on 20th July 2023
Kiwanda has also organised a youth competition for best maize farmers with high quality. The winner in every three sub-counties of Mityana North Constituency will move away from a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.
The RDC of Mityana Africano Alikundira lauded Kiwanda for being a good leader and a man of action in spite of not being in active government services. “Others who lost are in petty wrangles yet Kiwanda has continued to serve the people.” He said.
The RDC assured government support towards agricultural initiatives.
A committee for Kisoboka Agriculture Expo was also established.
Kiwanda promised more prizes for best farmers in coffee and matooke plantations.
He rallied well-wishers and partners for the Agriculture Expo.
