KAMPALA- The Algerian Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Amokrane Mourad, has led a delegation of Algerian importers and exporters on a courtesy visit to Flobeth Holdings Ltd and Agro Fresh Uganda at the company’s warehouse in Lubaga, Kampala.

The visit builds on earlier engagements aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties between Algeria and Uganda. In June this year, Ambassador Amokrane visited the company, one of Uganda’s leading exporters of fresh fruits, coffee, and cocoa, where he was hosted by Mr. Laban Musinguzi, Chief Executive Officer of Flobeth Holdings Ltd and Agro Fresh Uganda.

The ongoing collaboration follows a series of strategic meetings held at the Algerian Embassy in Kampala. These engagements were initiated and coordinated by Dr. Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, L.H.D. (Hon.), President of Heal The Planet Global Organisation (HTP), with the objective of promoting stronger economic and commercial partnerships between the two countries.

Today’s visit marks another significant milestone in advancing bilateral trade relations. It is expected to create new opportunities for Algerian and Ugandan importers, exporters, investors, and business owners by fostering stronger commercial partnerships, expanding market access, and encouraging mutually beneficial investment between the two nations.

The visit further underscores the strategic role of agro-industrialization in transforming Uganda’s agricultural sector from primary production to value-added processing, structured trade and export competitiveness. Through Agro Fresh Uganda’s digital agricultural export hub, farmers can be connected directly to aggregation, traceability, warehousing, processing, financing and international markets. Strengthening Uganda–Algeria trade relations provides a practical pathway for expanding exports of coffee, cocoa, fruits, vegetables and other value-added agricultural products. This partnership represents a critical contribution to Uganda’s Tenfold Growth Strategy, positioning agro-industrialization as a driver of jobs, foreign exchange earnings and farmer-centred economic transformation.
