KAMPALA, UGANDA – He cannot hear the world, but the world is now hearing him.

Allan Mirembe, a deaf author, publisher and fashion entrepreneur from Kampala, is defying every expectation by building not just one but two global brands from scratch: Allan Inspirations Publishers and Maison Luxora.
Starting with zero capital, zero connections, and living with profound deafness, Allan turned silence into strategy.
The First Empire: Books
It started with words back when he was in school at 16 years. As an author himself, Allan knows the struggle of wanting to publish but having no platform. So he created one.
Allan Inspirations Publishers is now an international indie publishing house that has published books worldwide through Amazon, B&N, and other global distributors. From memoirs to business books, children’s stories to inspirational guides, including his own books as an author. The company offers editing, cover design, formatting, and worldwide launch support.

All built from a laptop and a phone in Kampala.
“Being deaf taught me to listen with my eyes and speak with my hands and my writing,” says Allan. “Publishing gave me a voice that doesn’t need sound.”
The Second Empire: Luxury Fashion
While running his publishing house, Allan quietly built a second brand: Maison Luxora.
Maison Luxora is a luxury lifestyle brand featuring the signature ML Diamond Clutch, Eclat Athletic collection, Royal Crest Slides, and Men Joggers — now retailing on AmazeCommerce in the US at $45-$80.
The brand is built on quiet luxury, ivory tones, gold emblems, minimalist elegance. A far cry from his humble start, and proof that a deaf creator can compete in the global fashion space.
“I didn’t want to be known for just one thing,” Allan explains. “Books give people knowledge. Fashion gives people confidence. Both are about identity.”
From 0 to 2 Brands:
No investors. No office. No team at the start. Allan learned POD fashion and online publishing by himself, working late nights, reinvesting every dollar he made.
Today he is one of the few deaf entrepreneurs in Uganda running multiple online international brands worth approximately $10,000 USD with his upcoming Author social app titled Inkspire Social valued at $100k USD being in early access showing deaf youth that entrepreneurship has no sound barrier.
His next mission: mentoring other deaf creatives to build their own brands, and officially trademarking Inkspire Social, Maison Luxora and Allan Inspirations Publishers internationally and yet in spite of it all, he just clocked only 20years of age.
Quote to close:
“Starting with 0 means you have nothing to lose,” Allan says. “I built a publishing house so others can tell their stories. I built a luxury brand so I could tell mine without saying a word.”
