Da Agent Recognised as East Africa’s Fastest Rapper

KAMPALA, Uganda — Ugandan rapper Ivan Wabwire, popularly known as Da Agent, has been recognised by Bossip Africa for a rapid-fire performance recorded at a rate of 8.5 syllables per second.

The recognition is based on a passage from his 2024 song “Tewepima Nange,” in which Da Agent delivered 33 syllables in 3.75 seconds, according to the record details.

Bossip Africa issued Da Agent a certificate on September 19, 2026, describing the achievement as “Fastest Rapper in East Africa.”

The certificate, issued under the Bossip Africa Record Registry, states that the performance was recorded in Kampala, Uganda, in 2024.

According to the certificate, the assessment was conducted by Derrick Ssentamu on September 19, using a stopwatch to time the selected passage. The recording was also played at reduced speed to facilitate syllable counting.

The assessment notes that the performance involved natural pronunciation in both Luganda and English.

The certificate carries the record number BA-RR-2026-001 and was signed by Bossip Africa Editor-in-Chief Nathan Atiluk.

For Da Agent, the recognition puts a measurable figure on the rapid lyrical delivery that has featured prominently in his music, particularly in passages that move quickly between Luganda and English.

The recognition comes as Uganda’s hip-hop scene continues to showcase a range of lyrical styles, from traditional flows and storytelling to increasingly fast-paced delivery.

While the Bossip Africa certificate records the performance as an East African speed-rap achievement, the measurement relates specifically to the assessed passage from “Tewepima Nange.” Broader claims about the fastest rapper in the region would require comparison with other documented performances using a consistent measurement method.
