KAMPALA, UGANDA — A Nigerian bishop, Bishop Triumph Ndukwe, has held a special prayer session with Algeria’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Amokrane Mourad, during a visit to the Embassy of Algeria in Kampala.
Dr. Kivumbi Earnest Benjamin, L.H.D. (Hon.), who witnessed the occasion, described the meeting as a memorable moment of faith, friendship, and cultural exchange.
During the visit, Bishop Ndukwe presented Ambassador Mourad with a traditional royal Igbo garment, symbolising honour and the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people of Nigeria.
In return, the Algerian Ambassador gifted the bishop a book in a gesture of appreciation, adding to the spirit of goodwill that characterised the meeting.
Dr. Kivumbi expressed gratitude to Ambassador Mourad for welcoming the delegation to the embassy, describing the occasion as an opportunity to strengthen personal relationships and promote mutual respect across cultures.
The diplomatic engagement was a moment that highlighted the role of prayer, cultural appreciation, and personal friendship in fostering connections among people from different backgrounds.
Ambassador Mourad represents Algeria in Uganda, while Bishop Ndukwe participated in the visit through prayer and the exchange of cultural gifts.
The gathering also underscored the value of informal engagements in creating opportunities for dialogue and understanding between religious leaders and diplomatic representatives.
