Apostle Grace Lubega has challenged Christians to make themselves available for God’s work, saying divine assignments require people who are willing to respond when God calls.
Preaching under the theme “The Place for Available Men” during the Dunamis Conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Lubega emphasised the importance of availability and obedience in fulfilling God’s purpose.
Drawing from the biblical account of Moses and the burning bush in Exodus 3:4, the preacher explained that God’s call requires an individual who is willing to stop, listen and respond.
He pointed to Moses’ response, “Here I am,” after God called him from the burning bush, highlighting the significance of being attentive and available to divine instructions.
Lubega challenged believers to understand that being available to God goes beyond possessing spiritual gifts, noting that gifts were not designed to be the primary focus.
He further emphasised that there are things only God can do, suggesting that believers must recognise God’s role in fulfilling His purposes rather than relying solely on their own abilities.
The preacher also drew attention to the biblical account of Saul’s encounter with Ananias, who was instructed by God to go and minister to him after his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.
Saul, who later became the Apostle Paul, was a significant example of how God’s intervention can transform an individual’s life and redirect their purpose.
Referring to the account, Lubega highlighted the importance of responding to God’s instructions, noting that God’s calling cannot simply be dismissed.
His message centred on the need for Christians to cultivate a willing heart, remain attentive to God’s voice and be ready to take up responsibilities when called.
The sermon, titled “The Place for Available Men,” challenged believers to look beyond their abilities and spiritual gifts and recognise that availability to God is an essential part of fulfilling their divine assignments.
