KAMPALA, Uganda — Heavy rainfall on Thursday flooded part of the road at Bata Bata along Entebbe Road, forcing vehicles to use a single lane as the other side was covered by floodwater.
Images from the scene show a large amount of muddy water covering one side of the road, making it difficult for motorists to use the affected section.
Vehicles were consequently forced to use the opposite lane, creating a temporary one-way flow of traffic as motorists navigated the flooded area.
The flooding followed heavy rains that affected Kampala and surrounding areas on Thursday.

The situation disrupted normal traffic movement along the busy Entebbe Road, with motorists having to slow down and exercise caution while passing through the affected area.
Floodwater also spread towards areas near roadside businesses and structures, raising concerns about the impact of heavy rainfall on people and businesses operating in the area.
The incident highlights the challenges posed by heavy rainfall and water drainage in parts of Kampala, where roads can become difficult to use when large amounts of water accumulate.
Road users are advised to exercise caution when approaching flooded sections, particularly where water may conceal potholes or other hazards.
Motorists are also encouraged to avoid entering deep or fast-moving floodwater where the condition of the road underneath cannot be clearly seen.
